Spring 2009 was when I attempted to become more involved in cycling, and found out I had a lot to learn. Over the next few months between individual web research, being in the shop with my LBS guy, and discussing with others I began to learn more and more about bike types, accessories, maintenance and much more. The purpose of this blog is to share my experience as someone new to the sport/hobby so that they may learn something from my trials and tribulations or simply just enjoy reading of my exploits. Feedback and comments are encouraged!
Overall, I will be talking about general bicycle knowledge to get you started, and things I pick up along the way related to commuting, day trips, and fully loaded touring. I currently ride a Surly Long Haul Trucker touring bike, and a retrofitted Canadian Tire Raleigh all terrain bike for a beater (but mainly the first one).
